Mily Tovar

Kindergarten Teacher

Since 2015, I have been a Kindergarten teacher at Laurel Hall. Prior to teaching here, I taught for the Los Angeles Unified School District for 16 years. The majority of my career has been teaching Kindergarten, but I have also taught a K-1st split class, a 3rd grade class and have been a substitute for various local charter schools with students from all grades. I grew up the San Fernando Valley and graduated from Cal State Northridge. In 1996, I obtained my BA in Child Development with a minor in Psychology; in 2001, I received my Multiple-Subject Teaching Credential; In 2003, I graduated with a Masters in Educational Administration and received a preliminary administrative credential. I enjoy working with children and joining them in their academic and social journey. My husband of 15 years is also a teacher; he teaches English and coaches wrestling. We have two daughters ages 14 and 11. I enjoy spending my free time with my family visiting amusement parks and going on vacations.
