WHAT'S HAPPENING THIS WEEK!

2ND - 5TH GRADE CHRISTMAS CONCERT

Please join the Laurel Hall School community for a festive evening at the annual
2nd-5th Grade Christmas Concert on
Tuesday, December 5 at 7pm
in the sanctuary of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
We look forward to seeing you and sharing in the holiday spirit!

TIS THE SEASON TO GIVE BACK
In Mrs. L'Angelle's Big & Small mentoring class, she asked her "big" kids for project ideas to do with the "small" kids. 6th grader Edward Kloch suggested they make cards for sick children. Mrs. L'Angelle took it step further and asked all teachers TK through 5th grades to have their students make a card for a child who will be in the hospital over Christmas. She chose Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. Each card will be accompanied by a small box of Christmas stickers. Pastor Marty and Mrs. Koch invited Allen Alvarado to Chapel on Friday, December 1 to thank the kids for their work. Allen is a 21-year-old who, at age 11, spent a month at CHLA after a car accident. He told the students that simple gestures like this mean very much to the patients at CHLA. Out of a simple idea came a wonderful gesture of which all of our kids can be proud.  Thanks, Edward!
MITTEN TREE
It's that special time of year again! The Associated Student Body (ASB) has worked hard and the Mitten Tree is up just outside the school office door! Please fill our Mitten Tree with new mittens, scarves, hats, and socks. All items will be donated to Lutheran Social Services. Thank you for your kindness this holiday season, and have a Merry Christmas!
STUFFED ANIMAL COLLECTION
The Stuffed Animal Drive is on Friday, December 8. Please bring a new (under $10) stuffed animals to benefit Operation Santa Claus, to bring JOY to others in need.  The students will bring the stuffed animal with them to Chapel on this day. Thank you for your support!
HOLIDAY TREATS FOR STAFF
Happy Holidays everyone! The PTO Hospitality Chairs are looking to spoil our LHS staff during the holidays. Our goal is to keep the staff lounge filled with homemade goodies and treats Monday – Thursday the week before Christmas break. We are looking for your special holiday recipes to share with everyone. Some staff have limits on the amount of sugar they can have, so savory and healthy items are appreciated too.

Earn service hours for this! 2 hours for homemade and 1 hour for store bought. Please drop off your item with your name at the front office on the day you sign up. Remember you can only donate 5 hours of product for the entire year. For any questions, please contact Nathalie Schroeder at nathalie_s@me.com
